Please

This week...

Please say please and thank you more.

It's not just polite,
it's the way you show respect,
and gratitude.

I've known this since childhood,
but was reminded of it several years ago:

Dan Sullivan at Strategic Coach wrote about 4 referability habits. Saying please and thank you was one of these.

The habits are simple, yet many fall between the cracks for everyday busy professionals.

1. Show up on time.
That zoom call you enter 3 minutes late - demonstrates disrespect for others time. No excuses, it just does right?

2. Do what you say you will.
Sending the article you promised, making the call you said you make, sorting out an issue. Follow through is the easiest credibility builder.

3. Finish what you start.
This is the one I struggle with. I'm more of a starter, than a completer-finisher. What works for me? External accountability.

4. Say please and thank you.
This only counts when you mean it. So don't wrap up demands with a please, or false gratitude with a cordial thanks.

Full circle.

This week...
Please say please and thank you more.

Thank you for reading this.
