3 ways to become a go-to person in your network for a specific issue.
Executives often ask their connections who to bring in for help.
“Do you know someone who can help me with …”
And you want your name to be in their mind when asked. For that to happen you need to educate your network. Put your name in the brain-frame.
“You need to talk to John because …”
Here are 3 ways to do this:
1/ Position your targets
Have a clear message about who you help; problems you help with; and the outcomes you produce. Make sure everyone in your network understands this.
2/ Position your credibility
Talk up evidence that supports your claims. This is about your experiences and results you've delivered. Case studies and testimonials come in handy here.
3/ Position your likability
Reveal something personal that complements your professionalism. Show off a little of who you are. Some background relevant to your work is ideal.
Take action
Educating your network helps you to become the obvious go-to person for a specific issue. Take a few moments to think about your target, credibility, and likability statements. Write them down.
Now, I dare you to add that in the comments so we all know what you're all about. 👇
