When did you last change your mind about something big you believed to be true?

When did you last change your mind about something big you belived to be true?

Yesterday, I came across an article saying cold outreach doesn't work for consultants. I found myself agreeing because I've heard that from lots of gurus before.

They say it's a big old waste of time.

Then I thought, wait a minute, do I actually know that's true? I've never tested it myself. Now, I'm open to the idea that it might or might not work.

Considering most consultants don't do much cold outreach, maybe they just don't know how to make it effective for them.

I'm not saying I'm all for cold outreach. I've seen a lot of success with warm outreach and networking, so that seems like a better starting point.

But I'm not ready to dismiss cold outreach completely, especially since I've managed to sell several large IT deals that way.

What I'm suggesting is we question these common marketing and selling beliefs that we just accept without thought.

We might even be hiding behind those beliefs without even realising it.

So, when did you last reconsider something big you took for granted as the truth?
