The 2Bobs podcast.
I'm a big fan of the 2Bobs podcast.
The co-presenters have exceptional rapport. Listening is a pleasure. I always learn something new too—which makes the time worthwhile.
I listen to podcasts as I mow my lawns. It's a pain. I have to keep stopping to jot down something of the wisdom.
Anyway, last week was their 200th episode. They talked about their podcasting experiences and how they got started. There were a heap of ideas for anyone thinking of starting a co-hosted podcast 😇
Here are a few I jotted down:
1️⃣⇥ Commit to a trial period and evaluate during that.
↳ I'd now set a goal for a dozen episodes to get in sync.
↳ Set and test evaluative criteria to know the audience is receiving value.
2️⃣⇥ Choose topics based on coaching conversations and ongoing work.
↳ As a practitioner, I have lots of non-theoretical stuff to talk about.
↳ The best source is the real challenges clients bring to me.
3️⃣⇥ Identify and lean into your strengths as a team.
↳ Get to know your co-host if you haven't worked together before.
↳ Learn to divide the necessary tasks based on what you're each best at.
4️⃣⇥ Pay attention to energy and engagement levels.
↳ A good reminder that high energy and engagement lead to better content.
↳ Remember to watch energy levels in real-time when creating content.
5️⃣⇥ Constantly reflect on your
for podcasting.
↳ This is something to discuss with your co-host and get aligned.
↳ My aim would be content that delivers value to both us and our audience.
