I’ve been thinking about how people grow to meet the challenges of a new role.
And how some don’t because they either won’t or can’t change.
Many stay in a place that is easy.
And so avoid elevating their performance.
Others see opportunities to amplify their strengths.
They embrace working new ways and in different situations.
Most of all they want to win and can’t stop pushing to make a difference.
And that’s embedded in their identity now and in the future-self they are creating.
𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀?
Perhaps you’re settling for what you’ve got (or are given).
Maybe you're cruising along nailing low-bar goals.
𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄?
Consider when you last set yourself a big fat scary goal.
- Something that absolutely focused your ambition.
- Something you had no idea how to achieve.
- Something that felt totally out of reach.
